Intrusion Alarm System
Modern technology offers most unusual options for handling building and personnel security against threat, providing plentiful security implementation alternatives. This gives rise to a new management branch whose task is to choose optimum combinations and minimum acceptable risk, and primarily, to find an effective system of interoperation between modern technology and man.
The intrusion alarm system (IAS) is designed to timely signal intrusion or attempted intrusion into the building (guarded premises) or undesired activity of an intruder. IAS also acts as a preventive measures since the visibility of some components is supposed to deter offenders from attempting to break into the building.
IAS is made up of effective and reliable components and systems that are able to protect the respective premises against attacks or break-ins. The system speeds up notification of the person(s) in charge, either automatically or via human factor.
Modern detectors able to identify motion, glass breaking, door or window opening or attempts to sabotage IAS elements are used to detect intrusion or attempted intrusion into the building.
The IAS monitoring center evaluating alarm incidents received from detectors acts as the control unit for the entire system. The monitoring center includes a back-up power source providing for its operation in cases of electricity blackout.
The IAS system offers various forms of connection to the central monitoring system, central protection desk, or even to a mobile phone, which allows sending information on the building status directly to the police, security service or any other defined location.
IAS systems are modular, providing for future expansions of the system. Modern IAS systems are based on single-point detection, which means that operating personnel receives accurate information as to which detector has triggered the alarm. This feature enables monitoring of the offender’s movement in the building, and hence coordinating of the emergency response team and delivery of an effective action.
The IAS system serves to signal intrusion or attempted intrusion, but it cannot prevent entering the building. Therefore it is advisable to combine this system with mechanical prevention devices (anti-theft bars, locks, security sheets etc.). The IAS should be used in combination with other building protection systems (central monitoring system, CCTV monitoring, access control system, electronic fire alarm system), thereby enhancing the building protection level.
